Lineage & Training
Chirgilchin — "The Overtone" — is one of the most celebrated throat singing ensembles to emerge from the Republic of Tuva in southern Siberia. Their music carries the living thread of a tradition thousands of years old.
Scott has studied Tuvan throat singing and instruments directly under members of Chirgilchin for 30 years — a rare and deep transmission of one of the world's most extraordinary vocal and instrumental traditions.
This lineage informs everything: the way sound is understood as medicine, the relationship between breath and tone, and the use of overtone-rich instruments in ceremony and healing.
